Boise Flashmob rocks!

Had a great time participating in the. Flashmob last night.  It always brings a smile to my face to see people bashing each other with balloons, blowing bubbles, etc.  This one had an added yarn challenge that was a riot to rewatch on video.  Good times.

It's been nearly a year...

So...I guess that I have lost that drive to blog....lol.    I truly thought that I would keep up with posting but life got in the way.  Perhaps now that I have a cool phone that allows me to blog from it you might see more posts from me.  

Today is Mother's Day.   Not sure how I feel about it yet.  I still miss both my mom and my grandma.  It is lonely not having a mother around to laugh with.   In fact....it sucks.   When I hear about other people doing things with their mothers I get sad and weepy.    I miss my mom and it never gets easier.  

This is not turning out the way planned......perhaps this day is better spent in bed.

Tuesday Bloody Tuesday

So monday was a wash for looking/applying for jobs because of the fourth of July holiday. Woke early today hoping that there would be jobs listed on the job service sites....NADA. It is now after ten and still no new jobs posted. Are you effing kidding me!?! Sheesh. Perhaps the people in charge of posting these jobs are having to calm down the masses of unemployed who have just discovered that they cannot get an extension of UE bennies. I have had to explain to several people who assumed that they would get an extension that that option is no longer available....read the news people. Of course, I never kept up on this information until I checked my status in June. I just assumed that since there had been folks on UE for over 18 months I would get the same.....WRONG. But that's my damn luck.

Sunday, lazy sunday.........

Ah, Sunday July 4th, 2010....what will the day bring? I awoke to back pain caused from hunching over the table too long working on crafts...silly me.

After a good rubbing with Icy Hot and some yoga-type stretching it feels better.

Scrambled eggs with green onions for brekkies. yummers!!

Large cup of diet coca cola and working on blog, Ebay, Etsy accounts. Must come up with a brilliant idea for the Etsy page.

Supposed to reach 80 degrees today....YAY!! I love summer. Perhaps a nice lay about the back porch later? :D

It's so quiet right now...just the soft sounds of the apartment....fridge motor, kitty snores, fan blowing in the bedroom....just heard a bird outside, sweet.

Ack....the loo calls. And I was feeling so poetic.

Making Things for Etsy, Ebay....

So I have decided that I need to try this thing called Etsy. I have quilted and sewn for years and love creating little interesting things. While I have never considered my quilts to be worthy of most crafters out there, they do have that homey feel. I use mostly old jeans with used blankets for the batting. This helps to recycle items and makes the weight of the quilt quite nice. I have one that I am currently working on and will put up for sale soon.

We also have a ton of clothes pins or as we like to call them...C-47's. :D I have researched different things to make with them and am in the process of creating several items. Not sure how they will fare but it is a fun endeavor.

I now have an Etsy account...figuring out a name that I liked was challenging as I decided "Jimmiedean" would make people think of sausage and since I am not selling meat....well, yeah. I have been wanting to listen to 'Nickel Creek' and was listening to "The Lighthouse's Tale" when I decided against "Jimmies Attic" (or porch, garden, etc) and came up with "Lighthouse Treasures" I think it will be juuuussssst right. :D

So....off to create.

Lazy Sunday

I am having a lazy Sunday. I've read a bit of the news...got mopey about that...ran one load of laundry and hung them out on the porch to dry...kind of like this new saving electricity by not using the dryer...did research on Ebay about Navajo rings and bracelets......

Now I am playing on Facebook for the first time in a few days. Just did not want to go to any of my games. Perhaps I have tired of them....only so much fake farm you can do before it becomes a bore.

Made myself some scrambled eggs with green onion earlier...yummy. Should have taken a picture like my daughters been doing but they tasted better than they looked in the bowl...lol.

So, yeah...might just sit here all day.

Stuff and Ebay

I have a few things on Ebay that I need/want to sell.

Today is a bit cooler than yesterday but still beautiful! I LOVE summer. :D

Went to the Boise Pride festivities in the park yesterday to hear J compete in Queer Idol. J did not win but did a great job. It was slightly disappointing as I thought J did far better than the winner....oh, well.

So once again i48 has come and gone. Good times, good people, many good memories. Slight disappointment in our film but these things happen from time to time. Congrats go to those teams who competed, winners and losers. We make films because we love what we do and that is what we must continue to focus on.

Life flies by......

It is amazing to me that so much time has passed since I last looked at this blog. Life gets complicated and busy and I just don't take the time to remember to log on and then so much time passes that I forget that I even have a blog.

So....random thoughts about the last four years....

Baby boy is still living in LA and has now graduated. His dream is still to act/write and I do hope that all those dreams come true.

N is living in Seattle and pursuing her music career. I think she just might make it happen. Her music is so beautiful.

J is still living here in the valley trying to figure out what path to take. I think that J gets closer every day to figuring what that path is and I know that it will be alright.

Our movie 'Vagabond Lane' is now finished and available to purchase. Sales have not been huge but I still believe that it has potential. We will start filming another project this coming July. I am very excited about this one. I think it will be a life changing one.

Currently unemployed and not really sure which direction to go at times. But I still believe that everything will work out for the best.

Well, my baby is leaving for LA tonight. Apartment has been found and he is off to start his new life in the big city. I am so very proud of him, he is following his dream and doing it for the most part on his own. It's going to be a great learning experience for him, I am sure of that. But I can't help getting teary eyed every now and again as I sit here taking phone calls.

I would have loved to take the night off but it wouldn't have been wise after taking three days last week for grandpa's funeral. It is now 6:30 and I am wondering if they have gotten everything loaded up......I hope he remembers to leave the keys.....

My grandfather past away at midnight on 8-11-06. I've been a bit numb since my sister called to tell me Saturday morning. It wasn't really a surprise given his health but it's still hard to imagine him gone. Grandma looked so frail on Saturday, won't be surprised if she doesn't last long herself.

It's been a couple days now and I'm still a bit numb. I'm able to have a couple days off this week for the funeral, won't be paid time off but it will be nice not to be here. I've already had two calls where passengers have either lost or are losing loved ones. Those are always tough but tonight they are harder to deal with. At the moment I'm trying to process a ticket for a guy trying to get to his sisters side before she dies. Pretty grim. I feel I could use a stiff drink.

My supervisor did say if I needed more time to let her know but really, sitting here and taking calls keeps my mind off of family problems so I think staying at work is a better idea.
